Notes: Aralia racemosa (American Spikenard) is a striking large leaved, somewhat aggressively spreading perennial that will form a dense and beautiful thicket that is almost shrub-like, great in a naturalized garden. Nice white plume flower followed by profuse red berries. Beware that bark and roots can cause skin-irritation.
Noted as deer resistant by the Chicago Botanical Garden.
